Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Name and email address (at signup and assessment)
• Password (stored encrypted — we never see it in plain text)
• Golf data: rounds logged, scores, Shot Leak selections, practice sessions, notes
• Profile information: current average score, goal score, profile photo
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

Information collected automatically:

• Login timestamps and session data
• Pages visited and features used within the platform
• Device type, browser, and operating system (for compatibility)
• IP address (used for security and fraud prevention only)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the GolfScoreHQ platform and all its features
• To personalize your experience (Shot Leak recommendations, guide suggestions, leaderboard)
• To send transactional emails (receipts, trial reminders, password resets)
• To send marketing emails you opted into (nurture sequence, coaching tips) — you can opt out at any time
• To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
• To improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns
• To protect the security and integrity of the platform

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.

3. Third-Party Services

GolfScoreHQ uses the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each has its own privacy policy.

• Supabase — Database and authentication. Stores your account data and golf records. Privacy Policy
• Stripe — Payment processing. Handles all billing and subscription management. We never store your card details. Privacy Policy
• Circle — Community platform (The 19th Hole). Your name and avatar are shared with Circle when you access the community. Privacy Policy
• Vercel — Website hosting. Privacy Policy

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your membership is active. If you cancel your membership, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for reactivation, then deleted or anonymized.

If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days (per GDPR Article 17). Your leaderboard history will be anonymized immediately upon deletion request — your scores may remain in aggregate statistics but will not be linked to your identity.

5. Cookies

GolfScoreHQ uses essential cookies only — the minimum required to keep you logged in and the platform functioning. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from staying logged in to the platform.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — Update or correct inaccurate data (most can be done in Account Settings)
• Deletion — Request that we delete your account and personal data
• Portability — Request your golf data in a portable format (CSV)
• Opt-out of marketing — Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in any email
• Withdraw consent — Cancel your membership and request data deletion at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@golfscorehq.com or use the Delete Account option in Account Settings.

7. Children's Privacy

GolfScoreHQ is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

8. Security

We take the security of your data seriously. GolfScoreHQ uses industry-standard measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at coach@golfscorehq.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of GolfScoreHQ after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
